The Finished Podcast And Evaluation
The project I took on was creating a podcast. This podcast was about reflecting on my previous projects. I had to talk about them, say if it was a realistic idea, if it was challenging, how my time management was, what skills I had acquired. It was challenging as I hadn’t ever created a podcast and I had no clue how to start one. However, my three main aims for this podcast episode were to make sure we didn’t ramble, to learn how to create podcasts and find out how the equipment works.
I’ve enhanced my talking skills and creative knowledge by learning how to edit podcasts and having to talk Infront of a microphone and camera. I had to make many decisions to create this podcast including if I wanted to do it on my own, if I wanted to do it with someone else, how did I want this podcast to turn out, but in the end, it worked out for me as I did it with someone else and got more comfortable Infront of the camera which meant I made the best decision I possibly could.
My biggest weakness was time management. I struggled with managing the time I had to film and produce the podcast but one of my biggest strengths was knowing how the podcast equipment worked and how to create a podcast. Out of the whole podcast I learnt how to create a podcast on a budget and how audacity works. This gives me an advantage if I want to create a podcast of my own in the future, which I am planning to do.
Some ideas to improve the podcast is to use a better microphone. To write a script before we filmed the podcast to stop any rambling. Some positive things we did was figure out to setup the podcast by ourselves and that we managed to edit the podcast within a couple hours after never seeing the software before. I’ve acquired the skills of using Audacity and Adobe Audition. I think we could’ve done better, and it wasn’t the best we could have done, however as our first podcast episode it went well. We achieved our three main goals, and it turned out to be a good podcast.
